Four-star South Carolina target shares announcement date
South Carolina target offensive lineman Oluwatosin Babalade has shared when he’ll make his college decision.
The 6-5, 308-pound four-star took to Twitter on Sunday to announce that he’ll be making his announcement on Sunday July 31.
South Carolina is considered to be heavily in the mix for Babalade, along with Maryland, Rutgers, and North Carolina. In addition, Michigan, Ohio State, and NC State are also on his final seven list. As of Sunday, the On3 recruiting prediction machine has Maryland as the favorites to land him at 22%. USC sits in fourth at 13.7%.
Earlier this week, Gamecock Central’s Wes Mitchell had this to say about where the Gamecocks stood with the offensive lineman. “Babalade appears to be a South Carolina, OSU battle with Maryland trying to make a move too. Carolina has felt cautiously optimistic but it seems the OSU writers feel optimistic in the Buckeyes’ chances too.”

H.S. Scouting Summary
Big-framed offensive lineman with the brute strength to overpower defensive linemen. Has college-ready size, measuring at 6-foot-5, 308 pounds with a 6-foot-10 wing-span prior to his senior season. Moves well at his size, both on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Turned in a solid 4.85 second short shuttle. Works at left tackle for a top high school program in DeMatha. Has significant upper body strength and pop in his hands. Stones opposing pass rusher at the point of attack. Can sling defensive linemen to the ground with relative ease. Faces top competition, including many future Power Five pass rushers on a weekly basis. Had a dominant showing at Under Armour’s Baltimore camp. Could play multiple spots on the offensive line at the next level. Still developing from a technique perspective. Has room to improve as a run blocker and in sustaining blocks. Also has a tendency to play high at times.
