With Lamont Paris and the rest of South Carolina’s coaching staff on hand, 2025 signees Eli Ellis and Hayden Assemian helped Moravian Prep (NC) to an 85-50 win over Ridge View (SC) in The Bash on Thursday.

Ellis had a big night with a game-high 28 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field. He also went 3-for-6 from three-point range and had five rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Assemian didn’t have as big of a scoring presence in this game with only four points and one shot taken. But he did have six rebounds and three assists in his time on the floor.

After helping Powdersville (SC) High School win a state championship last season, Assemian decided to link up with his future Gamecock teammate Ellis at Moravian for his senior year. The two also play together with the YNG Dreamerz in the Overtime Elite league.

Assemian, rated as a three-star prospect by On3, averaged 15.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.7 assists per game at Powdersville last year. He’s a 6-foot-6, 235-pound forward that brings a lot of tools that Paris looked for in the recruitment process.

Meanwhile, Ellis has been captivating as a big-time scorer and social media sensation. He’s garnered a large following on TikTok with over 1.1 million followers and 68.1 million likes. But on the court, he’s the all-time leading scorer in Overtime Elite and won the league’s MVP award after averaging 33.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game in 2023-24.

Ellis, a four-star prospect, is ranked as the No. 68 overall player in the Class of 2025 in On3’s Industry Ranking. He’s the 19th-best shooting guard and No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina.

On the other side, Ridge View guard Korie Corbett, who has an offer from the Gamecocks, had nine points on Thursday. He shot 4-of-9 from the field with two rebounds and an assist.

Corbett is a four-star recruit in the class of 2026. While South Carolina is one of two local schools to offer him, which also includes SC State, it isn’t the only SEC program interested in him. Ole Miss looks to be in the thick of it all with On3 giving the Rebels a 72.7 percent chance to land the 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard.
