Sunday injury report: Several Gamecocks return to practice
As South Carolina football returns to SEC play following two straight out-of-conference games, the Gamecocks are continuing to get closer to full strength.
Head coach Shane Beamer said on his teleconference Sunday evening that cornerback Darius Rush, nickelback David Spaulding and defensive tackle Boogie Huntley all practiced Sunday night as the Gamecocks began preparation for Kentucky.

“We’re in decent shape,” Beamer said. “Just got off the practice field, Rush practiced, Spaulding practiced, Huntley was out there. I feel like we’ll be in as good a shape as we have been since game 3 after we had those injuries in the Arkansas game. Really the only ones I would say would be questionable right now would be (Dylan) Wonnum and Trai Jones but we’re still optimistic they’ll be able to do something Saturday in Lexington.”

Jones, who has come off the bench to play some left guard in each of the last three games, rolled up his ankle in the Gamecocks’ win over SC State Thursday, Beamer said following the game.
Rush missed the last two games with a hamstring injury he suffered against Georgia.
Spaulding has missed the last four games with a leg bruise suffered in the opener against Georgia State.
Wonnum, the Gamecocks’ starter at right tackle, has missed the last two games with a foot injury.

South Carolina lost both Mo Kaba and Jordan Strachan for the season in that game against Arkansas that Beamer referenced.
The Gamecocks and Wildcats are set to square off at 7:30 p.m. ET this Saturday in Lexington, Ky., with SEC Network broadcasting the game.
