Gamecocks in the NFL: Week 16 recap

Week 16 of the NFL season saw four different nights of action. Here’s a look at how some of those former South Carolina Gamecocks in the league did over the weekend. In addition, which players were on byes.

Damiere Byrd – FALCONS
Byrd was targeted twice and had one reception for 15 yards.

Rashad Fenton – FALCONS
Fenton was inactive.

Shi Smith – PANTHERS
The wide out had one reception on two targets for 17 yards.

Jaycee Horn – PANTHERS
Horn had six tackles including five solo

Adam Prentice – Saints
Days after being named a Pro Bowl alternative, the fullback stayed busy blocking for New Orleans. He also rushed for five yards on two carries.

Jadeveon Clowney – BROWNS
Clowney missed last week’s game after being placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Chris Lammons – CHIEFS
Lammons’ biggest impact during Saturday’s game came on special teams. During a punt return deep into Chiefs territory, one of Lammons’ KC teammates accidentally made contact with the ball, making it live. Lammons had the awareness to fall on it to prevent a Chiefs turnover.

D.J. Wonnum – VIKINGS
The DE was credited with one tackle, 0.5 sack, and a QB hurry.

Nick Muse – VIKINGS
Muse continues to playing time on special teams after being signed to the 53-man roster earlier this season. He was on the edge blocking during the Vikings’ 61-yard game-winning field goal against the Giants this past weekend.

Hayden Hurst – BENGALS
For a second straight week, Hurst was inactive due to a calf injury.

Kevin Harris – PATRIOTS
After the Patriots fell behind early 22-0, the running back finished with just three yards on one carry.

Dennis Daley – TITANS
Daley didn’t allow a sack this past weekend. He’s had a rough season. Allowing 12 sacks on the year so far, that’s the most sacks allowed this season in the league by an offensive lineman.

Taylor Stallworth – TEXANS
The DT was placed on IR due to a calf injury before Week 16’s game. Stallworth had already been ruled out for Week 15 with a calf injury, but he’ll remain sidelined for the Texans final four games due because of it.

A.J. Cann – TEXANS
Cann started at right guard. According to PFF, he graded out the third highest by any Texan (77.4).

Deebo Samuel – 49ERS
Samuel missed Week 16 after sustaining both a knee and ankle injuries in Week 14.

Javon Kinlaw – 49ERS
After being out for two months, Kinlaw returned off IR this past weekend and had one tackle.

Israel Mukuamu – COWBOYS
The defensive back had one tackle on special teams.

Ryan Succop – Buccaneers
Succop was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempts and kicked a game-winning 40-yarder in overtime. He picked up 13 of Tampa Bay’s 19 points.

Pharoh Cooper – Cardinals
After once again being elevated from the practice squad, Cooper returned five punts for 75 yards. He also returned one kickoff for 17 yards.

Melvin Ingram – DOLPHINS
The linebacker played just 13 snaps and did not record any stats. Last week he failed to register a stat after seeing just 22 snaps.

Brandon Shell – DOLPHINS
Shell got the start again at right tackle. According to PFF, he graded out at 62.9.

Stephon Gilmore – COLTS
Gilmore had four tackles including three solo.

Ernest Jones – RAMS
The linebacker had two tackles, including one solo.

Kingsley Enagbare – PACKERS
The rookie had one tackle, one QB hurry, and defended a pass.

Keisean Nixon – PACKERS
Nixon returned two kickoffs for 113 yards. His highlight of the day came on a 93-yard kickoff returned that he brought back inside of Miami’s 10 yard line.
