Gamecocks in the NFL: Week 17 recap

Week 17 of the NFL season ended with a tragic event in Cincinnati. Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after making a tackle, leaving him at this time in critical condition.

While the Bills-Bengals game was stopped, here’s a look at how some of those former South Carolina Gamecocks in the league did over the weekend. In addition, which players were on byes.

Pharoh Cooper – Cardinals
The wide out had two receptions for right yards. He also returned one kickoff for 25 yards and a punt for 14 yards.

Damiere Byrd – FALCONS
Byrd was targeted twice and had one reception for 12 yards.

Rashad Fenton – FALCONS
Fenton was inactive.

Shi Smith – PANTHERS
The wide out had four receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. Smith has two touchdown receptions on the year.

Jaycee Horn – PANTHERS
Horn was placed on IR on Monday. He missed Sunday’s game just days after having surgery on his wrist.

Ryan Succop – Buccaneers
The veteran kicked had a day to forget. He was 1-for-3 on field goal attempts and also missed an extra point.

Melvin Ingram – DOLPHINS
The linebacker finished with one tackle.

Brandon Shell – DOLPHINS
Despite dealing with a shoulder injury throughout the week, Shell got the start again at right tackle.

Kevin Harris – PATRIOTS
The Patriots running back was a healthy scratch.

Adam Prentice – Saints
The Pro Bowl alternative rushed for two yards on one carry and hauled in one reception for four yards.

Stephon Gilmore – COLTS
Gilmore had three tackles, all of which were solo.

Jadeveon Clowney – BROWNS
Clowney finished with five tackles including three solo and one tackle for loss.

Chris Lammons – CHIEFS
Lammons didn’t record a stat on Sunday.

Hayden Hurst – BENGALS
Hurst had two receptions for 25 yards. The game was however stopped in the first quarter after Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed. Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after making a tackle, leaving him at this time still in critical condition.

D.J. Wonnum – VIKINGS
The DE was credited with three tackles including one solo.

Nick Muse – VIKINGS
Muse continues to playing time on special teams after being signed to the 53-man roster earlier this season.

Deebo Samuel – 49ERS
Samuel missed Week 16 after sustaining both a knee and ankle injuries in Week 14.

Javon Kinlaw – 49ERS
After being out for two months, Kinlaw is just two weeks removed from coming back off IR. He failed to make a tackle, but he saw his snap count go up from 16 to 22 this past weekend.

Taylor Stallworth – TEXANS
The DT was placed on IR due to a calf injury before Week 16’s game.

A.J. Cann – TEXANS
Cann started at right guard.

Dennis Daley – TITANS
Daley started at left tackle.

Israel Mukuamu – COWBOYS
The defensive back had one tackle on special teams.

Ernest Jones – RAMS
The linebacker had nine tackles, including five solo.

Kingsley Enagbare – PACKERS
The rookie had one tackle and two QB hurries.

Keisean Nixon – PACKERS
Nixon returned a kickoff for 105 yards and a touchdown. He also had one punt return for 10 yards.
