Gamecocks in the NFL: Week 7 recap

Another week of NFL action that saw many South Carolina products dealing with injuries. Here’s a look at how some of those former Gamecocks in the league did over the weekend.

Javon Kinlaw – 49ERS
The defensive tackle remains on IR due to a knee injury. He won’t be eligible to return until Week 10
Deebo Samuel – 49ERS
Samuel caught five passes for 42 yards on seven targets. He also rushed for 2 yards on one carry.
Snagging seven catches for 79 yards, Samuel also rushed for 11 yards on two carries.
Kevin Harris – PATRIOTS
For a second straight game, Harris appeared on the 53-man roster. Despite playing last week, Harris was inactive as a healthy scratch.
Damiere Byrd – FALCONS
Byrd’s lone catch on Sunday resulted in a 75-yd touchdown. It’s also his only catch on the season.
Jadeveon Clowney – BROWNS
Clowney didn’t record a tackle this weekend but he was credited for a QB hurry. In the past five weeks he’s been dealing with multiple injuries (ankle, knee, and elbow) that has forced him to miss three games in the past five weeks.
Mike Davis – RAVENS
Despite the Ravens being hit by the injury bug at running back, Davis was a healthy scratch.
Kingsley Enagbare – PACKERS
The rookie finished with three tackles and also had a sack. This marks his second career sack, which is also his second in as many weeks.
Keisean Nixon – PACKERS
The defensive back had one tackle on special teams.

Hayden Hurst – BENGALS
Hurst was targeted eight times and caught six passes for 48 yards.
Ryan Succop – BUCCANEERS
Succop converted his lone field goal attempt for 27 yards for his only points in the game.
Jaycee Horn – PANTHERS
For a second straight week, the defensive back was inactive due to a rib injury.
Shi Smith – PANTHERS
Smith wasn’t targeted on Sunday. He registered one punt return for no yards.
Stephon Gilmore – COLTS
The veteran defensive back had two tackles, both solo.
Rashad Fenton – CHIEFS
For a second straight game, Fenton was inactive due to a hamstring injury.

Brandon Shell – DOLPHINS
Shell got the start at right tackle for a second straight week and has impressed Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel.
Melvin Ingram III – DOLPHINS
Ingram had one tackle for loss in the Dolphins win.
A.J. Cann – TEXANS
Cann started at right tackle in Houston’s loss to the Raiders.
Dennis Daley – TITANS
It’s been a rough season for Daley. He started at LT but has struggled to keep the quarterback upright and has been grading out poorly on PFF.
