Gamecocks + streaming platform goes live
The University of South Carolina’s Gamecocks + streaming platform is now officially up and running. The brand new vertical, a partnership between the athletics department and Sport & Story.
The platform features “original storytelling content – above and beyond the already high-level video that fans have come to expect and enjoy – including new, never-before-seen, behind-the-scenes access, exclusive interviews, archival footage showcasing iconic moments, and news and information,” according to a press release distributed by South Carolina in July.
Examples of the content the platform offers: “Gamecock Docs” such as “George Rogers, South Carolina Legend”, “Film Room” features with football assistant coaches Clayton White, Torrian Gray, Greg Adkins, and Jody Wright, and all past episodes of the popular “Welcome Home” television series.
The subscription also includes video from “The Vault”, which includes highlights from past South Carolina football seasons dating back to the 1980s and replays of “The Joe Morrison Show.” Features on Shelley Smith’s women’s soccer program and a look at the 1972-1973 men’s basketball team are also now available.
Current Gamecock Club members get complimentary access to the streaming subscription. To begin watching, navigate to the registration page and create an account. Then, click the button that says “Activate with my current Gamecock Club Membership.” You will need to enter your membership number and the email address the Club has on file.
Those that are not currently Gamecock Club members can still access the new service by registering and paying an annual fee of either $100 per year or $8.33 per month. South Carolina fans that sign up will then have the ability to watch Gamecocks + content and also will get Roost level membership to the Gamecock Club. A seven day free trial is available.
