GARNET TRUST | South Carolina defensive end Terrell Dawkins arrived on campus last month after transferring in from N.C. State and has been getting settled in at his new home.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound EDGE/defensive end should factor in immediately at that position where the Gamecocks lost J.J. Enagbare and Aaron Sterling from last year’s squad.

Dawkins will compete with Jordan Strachan and Jordan Burch for playing time this season and brings another pass-rusher with experience to the position.

Listed as a redshirt junior, Dawkins has three years of eligibility left.

His best season with N.C. State came when as a redshirt freshman he played in 12 games, starting six, and racked up 36 tackles, including 9.0 tackles for loss, and led all ACC freshmen with 4.5 sacks.

A former three-star prospect out of high school, Dawkins is from Concord, N.C. and signed with N.C. State out of Cox Mill High School.
