Incarnate Word transfer offensive lineman Nolan Hay has committed to South Carolina, fresh off a visit to the Gamecocks, GamecockCentral has learned.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder chose South Carolina over finalist Oklahoma State as well as Washington State and Colorado.

“The biggest thing was I really like Coach (Luke) Day and the strength program, and how much the coaches really knew about ball,” Hay told SportsTalkSC after the visit.  “There are coaches that know about ball, but when you really dive deep, and where they really know your strength and weaknesses, and then they go into it, and how they know how to fix it, I think that’s the biggest thing for me.  I always look to improve on the little things.  Coach (Lonnie) Teasley really went down and explained what I could do better and everything, and I really appreciate that.”

Hay, who has one year of eligibility remaining, will compete for immediate playing time on the interior of the Gamecocks line.

He fills a need as South Carolina wanted to add an offensive lineman to its transfer class after losing Jakai Moore and Kam Pringle to the portal during this window.

Hay joins the Gamecocks after one season at Incarnate Word and two seasons at Houston Christian University.

The Katy, Texas-native was a first-team all-conference selection last season according to Phil Steele. He’s played in 31 career games.

During the 2024 season, Hay played right tackle and turned in an 80.6 pass blocking grade, according to PFF. He has played over 2,000 career snaps according to the site.

With the addition of Hay, South Carolina has added four players from the transfer portal during the spring window.

Earlier this week, Georgia Southern defensive lineman Troy Pikes signed with the Gamecocks over Georgia, Ohio State, and Georgia Tech.

That news came after EDGEs George Wilson (Campbell) and Demon Clowney signed with the program.
