Nyckoles Harbor off to a strong start in track
South Carolina dual-sport athlete Nyckoles Harbor is already putting up some impressive numbers on the track for first-year Gamecocks track coach Tim Hall.
At the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson last week, Harbor advanced all the way to the final round in the 60-meter spring. In the seminal round, Harbor clocked a new personal best time of 6.61 seconds in the event. That mark was good for second in the semifinals and lready has Harbor in the record books at South Carolina.

The 200-meter time for Harbor at his last event was 20.83, which put him as sixth-best on Friday.
For Shane Beamer’s football program, Nyckoles Harbor caught 12 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown as a true freshman.
He was the highest-ranked prospect for the Gamecocks’ 2023 recruiting class. The On3 Industry Ranking – a weighted average of all four major recruiting services – rated Harbor as the 21st-best football prospect in the country and as the nation’s number-one athlete.
“Nyck is a tremendous dual-sport athlete that I just can’t wait to have the opportunity to work with,” head coach Tim Hall said last summer. “I can’t wait to talk with (football) Coach (Shane) Beamer to formulate a plan that will be conducive to both sports.”
