South Carolina, currently 2-1, is coming off a heartbreaking and controversial 36-33 loss to LSU at home on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Meanwhile, Akron, of the Mid-American Conference, is 1-2 with blowout losses to Ohio State and Rutgers and a win this past weekend over Colgate.

A full house is expected for the game as it’s Family Weekend on the University of South Carolina campus and it’s the first night game of the 2024 season.

This is just the second time the two programs have faced off. South Carolina won 28-3 in 2018.

— Can’t let last Saturday linger. It’s full speed to Akron. Looks at what the MAC has done in terms of upsets around college football this season. Akron presents a lot of problems. Has a ton of respect for Joe Moorhead. Always enjoyed watching his offenses.
