Final Gamecocks injury report
By Collyn Taylor
The good news for South Carolina is the Gamecocks are getting two starters back this week going on the road to play Kentucky.
The bad news is a host of other players are still questionable going into the game.
Shane Beamer said on his radio show Thursday night both Dylan Wonnum and Darius Rush practiced “all week” and each will “play and be fine.”

Wonnum has played largely at right tackle when healthy this season while Rush is the Gamecocks’ starting corner opposite either Marcellas Dial or Cam Smith.
If healthy and able to play, it’s easy to see both starting for South Carolina Saturday night at Kentucky.
The issue, Beamer mentioned, is a few other guys are dealing with the typical bumps and bruises of a season and are considered “questionable.”
The Gamecocks’ head coach said the status of those banged-up players will be determined in how they progress over the next two days before kickoff.

Beamer didn’t specify which players, but Boogie Huntley, Trai Jones, Devonni Reed and others have been dealing with issues over the last few weeks.
“We’re Game 6, so there are normal bumps and bruises and guys that need to come along here these next couple of days for sure but nobody that we would sit here today and rule out as we sit here on Tuesday. It’s a long season and we’re approaching the halfway point of the regular season,” Beamer said Tuesday. “So bumps and bruises like everybody but nobody other than the guys that have previously been announced as season-ending that I can sit here and say definitely aren’t playing on Saturday and hope to have everybody as full strength as possible.”
Beamer also mentioned David Spaulding practiced this week and should have a role against the Wildcats this weekend.

“He’s back and practiced this week. David will play this week and that’s huge for us,
Beamer said. “Since the first drive of the Georgia state game we haven’t been healthy in the secondary.”
Between injuries to RJ Roderick, Rush, Spaulding and Cam Smith, the Gamecocks have been severely banged up in the secondary and far from whole.
Beamer said the Gamecocks “doubt we do this week,” talking about having a full-strength secondary, but getting a few veterans back could help.
