It's decision day for South Carolina WR target Somourian Wingo

Decision day is here for South Carolina wide receiver target Somourian Wingo.
The St. Augustine (Florida) class of 2026 four-star wide receiver will announce his decision today at 2:00 p.m. EST.

The finalists for Wingo are Florida, Miami, and South Carolina.
All three of those programs received official visits from Wingo, with the Gamecocks getting the last on the weekend of June 20.
USC increased its chances with Wingo once he had the opportunity to take his official visit.
“South Carolina definitely stepped up with the visit,” Wingo told Marcus Benjamin of Rivals last week. “The idea that everybody had was that there was nothing to do in South Carolina. But me going over there and them showing that there is stuff that we can do over there and have a lot of fun, but keep the main thing the main thing at the same time.”
As a junior, Wingo turned in a highly productive season for his high school program, tallying 71 receptions for 1,119 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The Rivals Industry Ranking – an average of all three major recruiting services – tabs him as the nation’s No. 141 prospect nationally regardless of position. He is additionally ranked as the number 20 wide receiver in the nation and the 19th-best prospect in the state of Florida.
What are we hearing on Wingo on decision day?
Wingo spoke with Blake Alderman of GatorsOnline recently about what he hopes to find in a school.
“The players’ perspective of the coaches and the people around,” he said. “Seeing how it really is and seeing how I’ll be moving around with the people there for the next 3-4 years of my life. It’s really more so me getting to know the players and the people that I’m going to be surrounding myself with.”
