Jackie Bradley Jr. remains red hot for Long Island Ducks
Despite not currently playing in the Major Leagues, former South Carolina star Jackie Bradley Jr. is not giving up the dream of playing professional baseball.
On Tuesday, the former Gamecock was honored by the Long Island Ducks as their Player of the Week after hitting .462 with two homers, five RBIs, seven runs, 12 hits, three doubles, a triple and three walks.

But that was only the start of what would be a massive day for JBJ. Later that night, Bradley Jr. smacked two home runs to go along with four RBIs to help lift the Ducks to a 6-4 win against the Charleston Dirty Birds.
Bradley Jr. is currently on a 13-game hit streak, which includes hitting five home runs and 12 RBIs. Of those 13 games, he’s had at least two hits in ten of them. Batting .340 on the season, JBJ has hit a total of six home runs, 19 RBIs, 22 runs, 35 hits, eight doubles, a triple and 12 walks.

The Atlantic League, especially the Ducks, has been a popular league for a variety of different players. Some of those players are young stars looking to get their break while others are trying to get back into MLB. One of those players include a former teammate of Bradley Jr., Rich Hill. Hill played for the Ducks in 2015 before signing with the Boston Red Sox. Other players who’ve come through the organization over the years include Dontrelle Willis, Éric Gagné, Nate Freiman, and Rich Hill.
The 34-year-old Bradley Jr. has played 11 years in MLB. Last season, he appeared in 43 games with the Kansas City Royals and batted .133.
