Shane Beamer addresses Jaheim Bell's touches
Following a loss to Missouri in which Jaheim Bell played nine snaps and did not have a touch, Gamecock football head coach Shane Beamer fielded questions on the junior’s involvement in the offense.
“We have different personnel groupings,” Beamer said during his weekly teleconference on Sunday. “We have 10 personnel with four receivers, we have 11 personnel with one tight end and three receivers, we have 12 personnel with two tight ends and two receivers and multiple personnel groupings.”

Bell is the current school record holder for the top two receiving yardage games by a tight end. Bell went for 159 yards through the air against North Carolina and for 136 against Vanderbilt, both during the 2021 season.
“Jaheim Bell is healthy and we’ve got to get him the ball more,” Beamer said on Saturday night. “We’ve got a lot of great playmakers on our offense. When you play 53 plays on offense and you’re five of 13 on third down, it’s hard to play a lot of plays and get all those guys the ball.”
