Jatavius Shivers returns to South Carolina football for 2025 season, inks deal with Garnet Trust
It’s official: South Carolina Gamecocks fans will see Jatavius Shivers suiting up in the Garnet and Black in 2025.
Shivers has signed a name, image, and likeness (NIL) contract with Garnet Trust, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
That means that Shane Beamer will keep one of the team’s up-and-coming offensive linemen in Columbia for his redshirt sophomore season.

“Kudos to our fanbase, kudos to our administration, kudos to the Garnet Trust for all they’ve done to be able to help us and our guys out in so many ways,” Beamer said of South Carolina’s efforts in player retention last year. “This program is about relationships, honesty, and trust and having conversations with guys, and building relationships throughout the season. Guys have expressed to us that they want to be (here).”
“I think retaining our current roster is the most important thing,” added Darren Uscher, South Carolina football’s Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting, during a recent appearance on GC Live.
After making just one appearance during his true freshman season, Shivers played in more than half of the Gamecocks’ regular season games in 2024. He saw action in seven contests this past season, including four against SEC opponents.
Shivers played 128 offensive snaps – including 97 at right tackle and 31 at left tackle – during the 2024 campaign, according to PFF. He appeared on a season-high 54 plays on Oct. 12, as he filled in for an injured Cason Henry in the Gamecocks’ 27-25 defeat to Alabama. Shivers also played four special teams snaps against Wofford on Nov. 23.
