Jersey numbers for South Carolina's summer enrollees revealed

South Carolina is in the process of updating its online 2024 football roster this week, revealing the jersey numbers, heights, and weights of its newcomers who did not enroll for the spring semester.

Incoming transfer wide receivers Dalevon Campbell and Vandrevius Jacobs; true freshman enrollees running back Matthew Fuller, defensive back Jalewis Solomon, and tight end Michael Smith; and JUCO defensive tackle transfer Jerome Simmons have all been added to the official South Carolina roster.

Scholarship Newcomers

WR Dalevon Campbell – 15 (jersey number)

6-foot-4, 205-pounds

Bio from South Carolina: Sixth-year player who joined the Gamecock program in the summer after transferring from Nevada… played two seasons for the Wolf Pack after spending three years at Illinois… possesses elite speed and size… presents a big target on the outside… expected to make an immediate impact… has appeared in 47 games at the Division I level with 17 starts… credited with 76 receptions for 1,159 yards, an average of 15.3 yards per catch, with three touchdowns.

DB Jalewis Solomon – 16

6-foot-1, 195-pounds

Bio: Highly sought after freshman defensive back who is slated to work at cornerback in his first season with the Garnet & Black… joined the squad in the summer… looks to learn the defense quickly to be able to contribute in his first year.

WR Vandrevius Jacobs – 19

6-foot, 195-pounds

Bio: Wide receiver who transferred from Florida State… joined the squad in the summer… considered a dynamic receiver with excellent speed and a big upside… has four seasons of eligibility remaining.

TE Michael Smith – 20

6-foot-6, 255-pounds

True freshman tight end… joined the squad in the summer… has the physical attributes to potentially see early action as he makes the transition to Division I football.

RB Matthew Fuller – 28

5-foot-11, 225-pounds

Bio: Running back who joined the squad in the summer… displayed athletic ability with a natural running style and production in high school.

DL Jerome Simmons – 96

6-foot-4, 333-pounds

Junior college defensive tackle who spent two seasons at Highland (Kan.) Community College… joined the squad in the summer… large body but can move… looks to get acclimated quickly to garner playing time in 2024.
