Juice Wells on Ole Miss: 'I wanted to be with a quarterback who's actually experienced in the SEC'
Former South Carolina wide receiver Juice Wells made some interesting comments on his move from Columbia to Ole Miss on Wednesday.
“I wanted to be with a quarterback who’s actually experienced in the SEC and can actually control the offense,” Wells said during an appearance on the Locked on Ole Miss podcast with Steven Willis.
The Highland Springs (Virginia) native spent two years at South Carolina, where he had a standout 2022 season linking up with Spencer Rattler.
On Thursday, Wells addressed some of the backlash that the comments created on social media:
“(LaNorris) Sellers know (sic) it’s all love…ya’ll cut it out,” he posted to his X account.

Wells had surgery on his foot before the 2023 campaign. He caught 3 passes for 37 yards, then aggravated it on a touchdown reception against Georgia.

With Rattler on to the NFL ranks, the favorite to win South Carolina’s quarterback job is Sellers, a sophomore former four-star prospect who On3 ranked as a top-100 player in the 2023 class.
Lane Kiffin and the Rebels will travel to Williams-Brice Stadium on October 5 to face Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks.
