Kelvin Hunter signs with South Carolina

It’s signing day in South Carolina, and signatures from prospects continue to roll in for Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks program.
The latest prospect to officially ink with the Gamecock football is West Florence (S.C.) safety Kelvin Hunter.

He is rated by the On3 Industry Ranking as a four-star prospect. Hunter is additionally ranked as the 269th-best prospect in the 2024 class and the 22nd-best safety prospect nationally.
Hunter is the 5th-best prospect in the state of South Carolina. He will help a lot with depth and he also intends to enroll early in January.

The Gamecocks beat out Virginia Tech to land Hunter. What ultimately put things over the top was the camaraderie of the 2024 class. Hunter mentioned his bond with fellow members of his class in an interview with our very own Wes Mitchell.
It was also Special Teams Coordinator Pete Lembo who pushed for Hunter. Lembo told him that he could use him on all units. Expect to see Hunter involved on special teams to some capacity next season.
