LaNorris Sellers details extra work South Carolina's OL has been putting in this offseason
It was a year full of frustration for South Carolina’s offensive line in 2023. Between injuries and a lack of proven depth, the Gamecocks took their lumps early in the season. Despite making progress as the season went on, the inability to have continuity up front prevented them from playing at a high level.
But they’re not making excuses. Instead, it appears that it’s only motivated them more for this season.

“I give all my props to the offensive line because, with all of this bad stuff that did happen (last year), they still didn’t complain. They took it and now they’re like we have to change it,” South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers said in a recent interview on The Welcome Home Podcast. “Extra meetings, extra film work. They pretty much stay longer after we do workouts… extra fieldwork. In the winter they would stay (longer) and then come back for an extra meeting at night.”

As if there wasn’t already enough motivation from 2023, South Carolina’s OL room this year is deeper than it’s been in quite some time. Returning eight players on scholarship, adding three transfers (including two starters), and three hungry freshmen (which includes the No.3 offensive tackle in the 2025 class), and the competition this fall camp should be through the roof.

“Usually in May, we get the whole month off. The offensive line didn’t take the month of May off. They stayed in Columbia. Even now, it’s the same thing. Nothing has changed. They’re always willing to do extra work. (Offensive line coach Lonnie) Teasley would come in and talk to (the quarterbacks) all the time. He’ll come in and ask questions to (coach Dowell) Loggains during our meetings. They’re willing to do the extra work.”
