Latest availability report ahead of South Carolina's matchup with Florida
After a two-game road trip, South Carolina returns home still in search of its first win in SEC play this season. The Gamecocks’ (10-8, 0-5 SEC) next opportunity to do so will come against No. 5 Florida on Wednesday night at Colonial Life Arena.
Things will mostly remain the same from an injury standpoint for South Carolina. In Tuesday’s SEC student-athlete availability report, Myles Stute and Jamarii Thomas are both listed as out. This is now the fourth consecutive game in which the Gamecocks will be down two starters. Both aren’t expected to be back anytime soon.
The one real change to the availability report is freshman guard Cam Scott being listed as questionable. He hasn’t appeared on the list so far this season and is coming off a game in which he scored two points in six minutes against Oklahoma.

Stute is still out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his lower left leg on Jan. 7. Three days after the Stute injury news, South Carolina announced Thomas would miss three to four weeks after suffering a right knee sprain during practice.
The Gamecocks managed and nearly legged out wins against Auburn and Vanderbilt, losing by three points in each game. But in their third game without the duo, they suffered an 82-62 loss to Oklahoma out in Norman over the weekend.
In their absence, South Carolina has rolled with a starting lineup consisting of Jacobi Wright, Morris Ugusuk, Zachary Davis, Collin Murray-Boyles, and Nick Pringle. Ugusuk and Davis were the additions made to fill those voids.

As for Florida, starting guard Will Richard is listed as probable on the availability report. Other than that, the Gators are in good shape. Richard, a 6-foot-4 senior, is averaging 13 points and 5.1 rebounds per game on 49.4 percent shooting.
Florida comes into this matchup at 16-2 on the season, with those two losses coming in conference play to No. 9 Kentucky and Missouri.
During the offseason, the SEC approved a new policy that mandates availability reports for conference games. The reports will be required for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball. For football, teams submit reports on Wednesday and then update them each day until a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports will be submitted the evening before a game and then updated on game day.
The availability reports will use designations such as “available,” “probable,” “questionable,” “doubtful” and “out” to describe how likely it is that a particular player will suit up for the next conference game. On game day, those designations will shift to “out” or “game-time decision.” The reports model professional sports leagues’ injury reports.
South Carolina and Florida will tip off at 7 p.m. on SEC Network.
