A few days after mentioning a swath of players will be questionable, it appears South Carolina will be without a handful of key contributors against Georgia.
The Gamecocks didn’t have Corey Rucker, Boogie Huntley, Cam Smith, RJ Roderick, David Spaudling during their pregame warmups. That would indicate none of those guys would be playing today.
None were on today’s dress list.
Rucker was roaming around the field pregame not dressed out but wearing a jersey without pads.

All of those are big losses for South Carolina with all of those guys at worst contributors when healthy. Rucker would contend for a starting spot while Huntley, Smith and Roderick all started when healthy. Spaulding played in the Gamecocks’ opener at nickel but didn’t make the trip to Arkansas last weekend.
“Our depth isn’t where it needs to be, for sure, but we’ve got really good players on this football team,” Shane Beamer said earlier in the week. “And we’re going to take a bunch of really good guys out there on Saturday to play against a really, really, really good Georgia team.”

South Carolina announced Monday that both Jordan Strachan and Mo Kaba will miss the remainder of the season with torn ACLs.
“Hate it for Mo, hate it for Jordan Strachan. Two great players. Great young men who had worked so hard this offseason to prepare themselves for the season,” Beamer said. “Those guys are great leaders for us and will continue to be.”
