Live updates: Lamont Paris preseason press conference
For the first time since South Carolina started preseason practice, Lamont Paris will have his press conference and speak to the media.
The Gamecocks are hosting their annual men’s basketball media day with Paris slated to speak to the media beginning at 2:30 p.m.
All three assistants will be available to the media after that at 3 p.m. and players available at 3:30 p.m.

South Carolina begins its season Nov. 2 with an exhibition against Mars Hill. The Gamecocks’ regular season begins in earnest Nov. 8 at home against South Carolina State with a game looming Nov. 11 against Clemson.
The Gamecocks have been going through practice now for about three weeks with a host of newcomers on the roster in Paris’s first season at South Carolina.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — South Carolina men’s basketball has dates set for its 2023 SEC schedule with the league office unveiling the conference slate late on Wednesday morning. The Gamecocks will have nine home games and nine games on the road in league play.

For the second consecutive season, Carolina will face its first road test in SEC action at Memorial Gym against Vanderbilt on Tuesday, Jan. 3. The team then returns home to Colonial Life Arena for the SEC home-opener against Tennessee on Saturday, Jan. 7. The Volunteers are the defending SEC Tournament Champions.

Carolina then travels to Rupp Arena to take on Kentucky on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
The Gamecocks will return home for a three-game homestand against Texas A&M (Jan. 14), Ole Miss (Jan. 17) and Auburn (Jan. 21), the defending SEC Regular Season Champions.
Back-to-back road games at Florida (Jan. 25) and Georgia (Jan. 28) will follow before ending the month at home vs. Mississippi State (Jan. 31).

February features home games versus Arkansas (Feb. 4), Vanderbilt (Feb. 14) and Alabama (Feb. 22) with road matchups at Missouri (Feb. 7), at Ole Miss (Feb. 11), at LSU (Feb. 18), at Tennessee (Feb. 25) and at Mississippi State (Feb. 28).
Carolina will conclude conference play and the regular season at home vs. Georgia on Saturday, March 4. The Gamecocks have won 12-straight games over the Bulldogs.
