Live updates: Shane Beamer media availability (Georgia)
South Carolina is coming off its first win of the season and Shane Beamer will meet with the media before things ramp up quickly.
Beamer will have his weekly Tuesday press conference to put a bow on the Gamecocks’ 47-21 win over Furman. He’ll also preview the team’s first true road game this weekend at top-ranked Georgia.

The Gamecocks have a tough fight on the road in Athens, and Beamer will update injuries, discuss the Bulldogs and his team before kickoff (3:30 p.m., CBS).

Game time set for Mississippi State game
South Carolina’s first SEC home game will be a night game.
The Gamecocks’ Week 4 game against Mississippi State on Sept. 23 will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network, the SEC announced Monday afternoon.
This is also the game where South Carolina will retire Alshon Jeffery’s jersey.
South Carolina is 11-5 in night games under Shane Beamer and 2-3 in both noon and midday games over the last two regular seasons.

At home, the Gamecocks are 9-2 in night home games under Beamer, 2-1 at home in midday home games and 0-1 in home noon games the last two seasons. The only noon game South Carolina played at home under Beamer was the Georgia game last season.
South Carolina is off to a 1-1 start with a season-opening loss to North Carolina and a win Saturday over Furman. The Gamecocks will travel to Athens to play top-ranked Georgia with kick scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on CBS. It’s South Carolina’s first non-night game of the year.

Georgia beat UT-Martin and Ball State the opening weeks allowing fewer than 10 points in both games.
Mississippi State is off to a good start in the Zach Arnett era, starting 2-0 with a 48-7 win over Southeastern Louisiana then a 31-24 overtime win at home over Arizona. The Bulldogs host a top-20 LSU team this weekend (noon, ESPN).
State isn’t ranked but is receiving votes in the AP Poll. If the Bulldogs do win this weekend, they’ll very likely head to Columbia with a number next to their name.

Their trip to Columbia at the end of September will be the first game away from home this season.
South Carolina is 9-7 all-time against Mississippi State and 5-3 at home against the Bulldogs. The time these two teams met was in 2016 in Starkville, a 27-14 South Carolina loss.
The last game at Williams-Brice was a 34-16 Gamecocks win in 2013.
After the Mississippi State game, the Gamecocks have a road tilt against Tennessee before a bye week on Oct. 7.
