Why South Carolina? “South Carolina’s going to the top. We’re not trying to get high on anybody’s board. We’re just going to do us, keep our heads down, keep grinding and we’re going to the top. South Carolina’s gonna be the team to deal with these few years coming up. The culture that’s in the program right now, it’s just love and that’s what we’re going to take to the top.”
Scouting report from On3: He can make players miss in space but it is not one of his best qualities. Bennett’s production each game is extremely impressive as each game he makes a number of plays even though the defense knows it’s coming to him. He is utilized as a wildcat quarterback as well for Greenville High as he shows his vision and toughness as a ball carrier. For a high school receiver, he is a great route runner, but every receiver takes huge strides in route running at the college level. Bennett is as polished of a receiver as you can expect to find coming out of high school. The only thing keeping him back from being a five-star from the recruiting models is extreme twitch and burst as recruiting models favor joystick-like receivers.
