Where NFL Network projects JJ Enagbare in latest mock draft
Former Gamecock football standout defensive end JJ Engagbare appears in the latest four-round mock draft from NFL Network, which was released on Friday.
NFL Network draft analyst Chad Reuter has Enagbare being selected in the third round by the Green Bay Packers as pick number 92 overall. The 2022 NFL Draft will take place from March 28 until March 30. In last year’s draft, Gamecock football had four total selections: Jaycee Horn (first round, Carolina Panthers), Ernest Jones (third round, LA Rams), Shi Smith (sixth round, Carolina Panthers), and Israel Mukuamu (sixth round, Dallas Cowboys).
As a high school prospect out of Atlanta (Georgia) Hapeville Charter, Enagbare was ranked by the On3 Consensus as a four-star prospect, the no. 234 prospect regardless of position, the 15th-best edge prospect nationally, and as the no. 26 prospect in the state of Georgia. The On3 Consensus is a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes rankings from all four major recruiting media companies. Enagbare was an early enrollee for Carolina out of the 2018 class, having led his team to a Class AA state championship in Georgia as a senior.
At Gamecock football’s recent pro day on March 18, Enagbare measured in at 6-foot-4, 271-pounds. He has 10 3/8 inch hands and 34 inch arms, plus an 84 1/4 inch wingspan. He turned in a broad jump of 9 feet, 10 inches.

Here is NFL Network Analyst Lance Zierlein on Enagbare’s game, which is listed on his NFL.com profile: “Enagbare is long and strong but lacks explosiveness, which could create diverging opinions regarding his position and how best to play him. He’s heavy-handed and physical but will never be confused for a playmaker on the edge. He’s best suited as a cubicle defender where his power and length can benefit him in smaller spaces. He has played heavier in the past and teams might ask him to pack the pounds back on in order to compete as a run-defending interior lineman in an odd or even front.”
