The On3 Consensus top athlete in the country this cycle recently sat down with GamecockCentral.com for a one-on-one interview on location at his high school.

“Coach Beamer was one of the first few to ever look at me when I was a freshman,” Harbor said during the conversation. “When he got the head coaching job at South Carolina (he) offered me to get me down to the school and just to show me great love when I was a three or four star. He’s still there, still showing the same recruitment, but just going even harder now since we’re getting closer to when I’m going to commit.”

Harbor has made two unofficial visits already to Columbia and is slated to take his official visit this weekend. After the trip to South Carolina, Harbor is scheduled official visits to Michigan on September 23 and LSU on October. 7.

“I’ll be at Gamecock Nation on September 16 through 18,” Harbor said.

Shane Beamer’s involvement with Harbor spans years, dating back to when he was an assistant under Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma.

“From my perspective, they’ve done a tremendous job since day one,” Harbor’s high school coach, Robert Harris, told GamecockCentral.com in another conversation.

Harbor is ranked by the On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — as the 10th-best football prospect in the country. He’s rated as the top athlete in the nation and the number one prospect in D.C.

Nyckoles Harbor Scouting Report from On3

Nyckoles Harbor is the rarest jumbo athlete we’ve seen as a recruit. He’s one of the nation’s top sprinters at around 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. Harbor could play as a pass rusher or big pass catcher at the college level. There are not many great comparisons given his physical dimensions and lack of polish as a pass catcher, but we’ve landed on former college wide receiver and NFL tight end Darren Waller, who ran 4.46 at the NFL Combine at 6-foot-6, 238 pounds.
