“We couldn’t be happier to have the relationship we do with the University of South Carolina,” Mason Jar co-owner, Brian Ausfeld told GamecockCentral. “To see fans every day of the year wearing their finest USC branded shirts, taking photos of all the memorabilia, and letting us know that they came all the way from South Carolina to visit means a lot to us. Game days at the Mason Jar are like being in Williams-Brice. You’ll hear Sandstorm non-stop while fans are locked in watching every play. We’re very lucky and grateful to have talented athletes like LaNorris, Mazeo and Dylan to stop in for some of our amazing BBQ and to meet the NYC Gamecocks.”

According to the University of South Carolina, there are more than 5,000 Gamecock alumni in the state of New York. Equity Sports agent Selwyn Roberts, who represents the three Gamecocks who’ll be making the trip to the Big Apple, told GamecockCentral that this will allow one of the largest Gamecock chapters outside of the Southeast Region a chance to see some of their favorite players up close.

The Mason Jar, which is located at 43 E 30th St in New York, NY, has gained popularity as one of the top Gamecocks bars in the Northeast. What’s become a go-to spot for South Carolina fans who live in the area, the bar is covered in Gamecocks gear. From jerseys to helmets, to signed basketballs, and Gamecocks stickers, there’s even a framed photo of “The Hit” by Jadeveon Clowney.
