Patrick DiMarco shifting to NIL role for Gamecocks
South Carolina Gamecocks staffer Patrick DiMarco has transitioned into a NIL-related role within the athletics department, GamecockCentral.com has learned.
Working with the Gamecock football program, the Florida native is well-suited for such a position due to his background and familiarity with current players. DiMarco had served on staff in a different capacity under Shane Beamer since last spring.
In the course of his new role, DiMarco is expected to serve as a valuable resource to South Carolina Gamecocks football players. He will assist in the development of name, image, and likeness opportunities for athletes while also assisting in education.
As a player, DiMarco twice served as team captain for Gamecock football under Steve Spurrier from 2007 until 2010. He then went on to spend 10 seasons in the National Football League, earning second-team All Pro honors and a Pro Bowl nod with the Atlanta Falcons in 2015.

Prior to his time with the Atlanta Falcons, DiMarco was with The San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. His final three seasons as a professional were spent from 2017 until 2019 with the Buffalo Bills.
After his playing days, DiMarco began his coaching career by joining Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Gamecocks staff in the spring of 2021, with an official title of “Football Analyst and Assistant Director of Football Relations.” He worked with the team’s running backs last season, this spring, and a portion of preseason camp before officially moving into his new role.
“Obviously, what he did as a player speaks for itself,” Beamer said last year when DiMarco was originally added to his staff. “We told our team this – here’s a guy who was somewhat under recruited coming into Carolina, to have the career that he had here, and then to have a 10- or 11-year career in the NFL, make two Pro Bowls, play in a Super Bowl. He’s got a fantastic story.”
