Photos: Gamecocks defeat Elon to open Regional play
No. 8 National Seed South Carolina Softball opened Regional Play against Elon on Friday at Beckham Field.
Lexi Winters drove in the Gamecocks first two runs on an RBI double in the bottom of the first. Rodi would add a bomb for good measure in the bottom of the fourth. “Rodi doing Rodi things,” Ashley Chastain Woodard said of Rodi’s homerun. South Carolina (41-15) would go on to defeat Elon 5-2 and move into the winner’s bracket of the Regional.
