Photos: Gamecock FAMs welcome home National Champions
On Sunday night the South Carolina Women’s Basketball team earned their second National Title. The Gamecocks defeated UConn 64-49.
On Monday morning the team was on a flight back from Minneapolis with a Welcome Home event full of FAMs waiting for them at Colonial Life Arena. President Harris Pastides, Athletic Director Ray Tanner, Dawn Staley, Aliyah Boston, Destanni Henderson, and LeLe Grissett all spoke at the event.
Dawn Staley made sure the FAMs knew just how special they are to the team saying, “You put energy into our players to play their very best each and every time they step on the floor. We just want to say thank you, thank you!” After all was said and done Staley spent a great deal of time talking with fans and taking selfies.
