Photos + Story: South Carolina Softball's walk-off walk knocks off Ole Miss

No. 9/10 South Carolina Softball (29-7, 5-5) opened the series against No. 19/20 Ole Miss (28-8, 5-5) on Friday night at Beckham Field.
In her 8th start of the season Sam Gress worked 7.2 scoreless innings. She had seven Ks and one walk. Jori Heard would relive her in extras of a scoreless game. Heard would ultimately pick up the win improving to 12-2. Heard only needed one pitch for a fly out to center to retire Ole Miss in the 8th inning.
In the bottom of the 8th the Gamecocks would load the bases on walks, Abigail Knight would draw the 4th consecutive walk to bring pinch runner Nia McKnight across the plate to defeat Ole Miss 1-0. South Carolina drew 10 walks on Friday night.
The Gamecocks will face Ole miss on Saturday at Noon on the SEC Network.
