As South Carolina football hits the road again to College Station, GamecockCentral.com staffers predict some things that may happen on the field against the Texas A&M Aggies.

CHRIS CLARK: The Gamecocks are going to be without two starting wideouts in this game – Juice Wells and Ahmarean Brown. Xavier Legette was banged up against Missouri.

Here’s to thinking we see more two tight end sets in this game as a result. Josh Simon and Trey Knox could also assist with trying to contain devastating Texas A&M front line on defense.

Knox has started to pick up steam, but I’ll predict a bigger day for Josh Simon.

WES MITCHELL: This will be a game of the “firsts” as in first downs and the first quarter.

Texas A&M has been phenomenal on offense on the first couple of drives of each game this year, when an offense is usually still “on script.” A&M scored on the first two drives in each of its first five games of the season. Then against Bama, A&M scored on the second drive and against Tennessee on its first drive. For a Carolina defense that has struggled with its starts on the road, the Gamecocks will need to at least get into the flow of the game without giving up points to have any shot.

And against a Texas A&M defensive front that has feasted on opponents in creating havoc plays, having some success on first down and thus avoiding long yardage on second and third downs, will be key in the Carolina offense having any chance.

KENDALL SMITH: Trying to stay positive with these predictions. The defense has been struggling, and they need a confidence boost ASAP. Give me a scoop and score for the Gamecocks this week. Do I have any real reason to justify this? Not really. But it’s been one of those years, so let’s go with it.

MIKE UVA: Heading into this game, Nyck Harbor has four catches for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Facing the number 1 pass rush in the country this weekend, getting the ball out cleanly won’t be an easy task. So my bold prediction this weekend is that Harbor will finish with at least four receptions.

JACK VELTRI: It won’t be a monster game from the South Carolina offense, but I think O’Mega Blake will have a solid game. Shane Beamer has spoken about his role should grow this week with some injuries. I like him to score a touchdown at some point on Saturday.
