–Really, really, fired up about the performance after watching the film. Thought they played really physical. Was concerned with about negative run plays and had zero negative runs. Defensively, when you have nine tackles for loss and four sacks that means you played physical and controlled the line of . That’s a really good MSU front seven and offensive line. Couldn’t be more “fired up” about the LOS play. Played clean for the most part and had a few calls go against them offensively. Mentioned they didn’t beat themselves. Played a clean, physical football game.
–Will Rogers played great. South Carolina helped him but he made some “big-time throws.” Loves the way they played defensively. The story of the game was the explosive plays but not time to panic. Thought they handled adversity well and left a few plays and yards out there in the run game.
Defensive player of the game: Boogie Huntley
Player of the game (offense): Spencer Rattler, Xavier Legette, Mario Anderson
Special teams player of the game: MitcherJeter, Bryan Thomas, Dakereon Joyner
Scout team players of the week: Mac Walters, Jamion Risher, Jaron Willis
–Juice Wells is doubtful but everyone else is fine.

–Asked about this being the starting line moving forward, said “we’ll see.” Said Trovon Baugh played well, Vershon Lee had a good game. When you get continuity, that really helps. Were a bit of a revolving door in August and in the early part of the season. Thinks they’ve done a “great job” understanding and picking up movement and pressure. Give credit to Spencer Rattler to chance the play at the LOS to check into more favorable plays. Feels like it’s been more efficient.
–Few times Mario Anderson missed the hole and has to make guys miss more. Improved more in pass pro and picking up blitzers. Few big plays he picked up a few rushers.

–No update on Jaylen Nichols. South Carolina is optimistic it’ll get him back sometime in November.
–Looking back at the pass defense, mentions Rogers made some “elite throws.” Have to put more pressure on Rogers early. A lot is they’re thin back there. Not a ton of depth back there. Spaulding adds a little bit of depth. Collier played some too. Saw some guys make plays throughout the year. Confident in that group. Have to get lined up, get eyes in the right spot and play the right technique. Said there was a time when it was supposed to be press coverage and guys let the receiver get a free release.
–Wanted to get all the running backs carries with Mario Anderson and DK Joyner. Anderson got hot and they rode with him. Joyner was going to have a series that was his and he fumbled. Rode Anderson the rest of the way. A lot of that rotation is handled by Hardesty talking about each position group. Beamer has say but Hardesty (and every position coach) has his vision.

–He’s really surprised with how well Rattler and Legette have played. With Legette, to him, it’s the fact he’s able to continue week in and week out and be elite on special teams and be elite as a WR too and be elite from games to practice and meetings. Said that the Legette touchdown run to start the game is eerily similar to what he did earlier in practice this week.
–Stone Blanton and Debo Williams have to continue to improve but Beamer is happy with the rotation at linebacker. Bam Scott and Pup Howard played about 20 snaps each so neither Blanton or Williams had to play a ton of snaps.
–Said Juju McDowell is a “critical player” in that running back room. Not getting snaps the last two weeks offensively is just kind of how the games went.
