The South Carolina offense was not as productive as hoped in week one against Georgia State. Adjustments have to be made heading into week two to take down a top-20 Arkansas team.

Quarterback Spencer Rattler definitely wants to see improvement heading into Fayetteville.

“Obviously as a group, myself and everybody we always want to clean stuff up, it’s game one, everybody’s got stuff to clean up after week one, so you know we’re going to take a big jump this week,” Rattler said.

Rattler finished the game 23-for-37 for 227 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.

“Offensive and defense we want to get better in every single area,” Rattler said. “I can’t point out one guy because if the receiver doesn’t run a good route, it’s the same thing as a running back missing the block or if I miss the throw, it’s the same thing and you could compare all of them so we all got to get better and we will, we will.”

The Gamecocks’ blocking—both on the offensive line and on the perimeter—struggled for most of the opener.

“I’m sure with the elephant in the room like we have to run the football, we have to be able to block people, we have to be able to block movement, and we have to be able to function in space,” Satterfield said.

When the run game struggles, the team usually struggles in the SEC.

“It’s not just the offensive line, all I’ve heard about is the offensive line which had its own struggles but I mean we got our butts kicked on the perimeter,” Satterfield said.

The play on the perimeter was another area lacking for the Gamecocks in week one. Although most of the offensive gains came from the air, the receiving corps did not produce.

“That’s a huge emphasis for us we’ve won a couple you know live periods on the perimeter this week just to prepare us and sharpen us up and get us to where we need to go,” Satterfield said.

Both Rattler and Satterfield were high on the Gamecock’s week of practice so far.

“We had an amazing practice today, I think our best practice so far, I’ve had a great practice and um you know just preparing for game two, ” Rattler said.

Satterfield agreed, and the results of that will be seen Saturday when the Gamecocks kick off at noon.

“Our attitude has been unbelievable, our practice has been really good this week,” Satterfield said.
