Shane Beamer shares what's on South Carolina's schedule ahead of fall camp
With just four days to go until South Carolina reports for fall camp, Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks’ coaching staff stayed busy over the weekend.
Over the past two days, USC hosted hundreds of high school campers, which included several key prospects for future recruiting classes.

“A bunch of high school prospects (came) in. I think George Wynn, our Associate Director of Football Operations, told us that it would be close to 300 young men that would be here for camp, which is huge,” said Beamer, ahead of this past weekend. “As soon as that camp ends we have a big recruiting event with some of the top prospects that are coming in from across the country that we’ll be able to spend some time with.”
South Carolina will report for fall camp on Thursday, Aug. 1 before hitting the practice field on Friday morning for their first practice of fall camp. Although the team will receive two idle weeks this season, this weekend into the start of this week will be the last time they’ll be able to catch their breath for quite some time.

“I’m giving everybody a long weekend, players and coaches, just so that we’re fresh and ready to roll next week. I don’t run the show in my house, at all, so we’ll check with the family and see what they have going on as well. Get some good family time in this weekend because then it will really it’ll be our last true weekend off until — I don’t know when. It’ll be a while until we have a Saturday and a Sunday where you’re not in the office.”
Judging by Beamer’s X account, it appears he’s making the most out of his down time. Early on Sunday morning, he posted a photo of him fishing with his youngest child, Hunter.
