Softball America Top 100 infielder Kadyn Gabrels commits to South Carolina
South Carolina softball’s recent stretch of recruiting saw another Softball America Top 100 prospect commit to the program.
Buford (Ga.) infielder Kadyn Gabrels made her commitment to the Gamecocks official on Monday morning.

Softball America listed Gabrels as the No. 39 recruit in the class of 2026. She is also rated as the No. 17 infielder and the No. 7 player from the state of Georgia.
Gabrels also plays for a Georgia Impact Taylor 08 squad on the travel circuit.
Gabrels is the latest addition to a South Carolina recruiting class that also features fellow Softball America Top 100 prospect and pitcher Boo Herber, top in-state pitching recruit Libby Miller and Ashley Chastain‘s first known commitment for the class in pitcher Hannah Wulf.

With the addition of Gabrels, South Carolina now has four known commitments in its 2026 class, which is ranked No. 9 in the country in Softball America’s team recruiting rankings, which are powered by On3.

MORE ON SOFTBALL: South Carolina softball lands commitment from Softball America Top 100 prospect
The South Carolina softball team has been hot on the recruiting trail in the back-half of September.
The Gamecocks kicked off the month by receiving a pledge from Hannah Wulf on Sept. 16. Fort Mill (S.C.) Indian Land right-handed pitcher Libby Miller, the top softball prospect in the Palmetto State, followed suit that same day.
Just over one week later, South Carolina landed one of the top prospects in the country in Boo Herber. Herber made verbal commitment to the Gamecocks via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on last month.
“My first phone call at midnight on 9/1 (when colleges can contact softball players during their junior year) was from Coach Ashley Chastain,” Herber told GamecockCentral. “She set the tone for every call after that, and I loved everything about our conversation and her energy. I never expected a phone call from her; I didn’t even know I was on their radar, and maybe that’s what made it so perfect.”
