South Carolina women’s basketball’s Director of Net Cutting
By: Chris Wellbaum
If South Carolina wins its second consecutive national championship this weekend, the Gamecocks will get to cut down the nets sometime around 5:30 Sunday. If that happens, the most important person on the court will be Freddy Ready.
Ready’s tenure with the Gamecock women’s basketball program predates Dawn Staley’s arrival. He has filled a variety of roles and is currently the Director of Player Development. Unofficially, he is also the Director of Cutting Down Nets.
