Final South Carolina injury report before Jacksonville State game

OL Vershon Lee and Cason Henry are both expected to play today, according to Shane Beamer. The return of both players couldn’t come at a better time as USC has been plagued by injuries to their OL. One of those injuries will be keeping out OL Trai Jones today. Jone left last week’s game with an ankle injury.

TE Trey Knox, who suffered a hamstring injury last week against Texas A&M, took part in today’s Gamecock Walk but is not on today’s dress list.

WR Juice Wells is still out dealing with a foot injury he re-aggravated during a touchdown catch and run against Georgia. Beamer continues to be optimistic that the wideout will return at some point this season. Wells has been running around at practice and continues to trend in the right direction.

Jersey change for today’s game: LB Pup Howard will be wearing No.55. Howard has been wearing No.5. The likely reasoning behind this is probably connected to special teams. Since Dakereon Joyner wears No.5, Pup wouldn’t be able to be on the field at the same time if he wore No.5. That’s just my guess as there hasn’t been an official word as to why the number change for the freshman linebacker.
