South Carolina last played Wofford in 2021, an 85-74 win at Colonial Life Arena. The Terriers are breaking in a new head coach in Dwight Perry. Perry took over as the interim head coach in December of last season and had the interim tag removed in the off-season.
He’s spent the last four seasons at Wofford and has been on staff at Furman and VCU.
It’ll be the first real chance to see this iteration of South Carolina basketball against outside competition. The Gamecocks begin their season the following Tuesday (Nov. 6) at home against USC Upstate.

The Gamecocks are bringing in a slew of new players with four scholarship portal additions and three high school signees as well. South Carolina brought over BJ Mack (Wofford), Myles Stute (Vanderbilt), Stephen Clark (The Citadel) and Ta’Lon Cooper (Minnesota) out of the portal.
The Gamecocks signed Collin Murray-Boyles, Arden Conyers and Morris Ugusuk out of the high school ranks.
South Carolina returns scholarship players Meechie Johnson, Jacobi Wright, Zachary Davis, Josh Gray and Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk. Ebrima Dibba is also working his way back from an Achilles injury dating back to last year.
