South Carolina baseball featured in MLB The Show 25 gameplay trailer
If you didn’t get to live out your dreams of playing college baseball, now you’ll have a chance to do so, albeit virtually.
As the new MLB The Show 25 video game is set to come out next month, new gameplay and modes were revealed in a trailer posted by PlayStation on Tuesday. As the trailer states, “Even a game as timeless as baseball must evolve,” revealing high school and college years will be featured in the Road To The Show mode.

After showing Road To The Show starting in high school, the trailer gives a glimpse into the college teams that will be in the game. This is what the game is labeling as “The Amateur Years.”
It appears South Carolina will be one of those featured college teams. In a clip from the trailer showcasing a baseball stadium based on Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, where the College World Series is played, the South Carolina logo appears on the outfield wall.
Other teams included are LSU, Tennessee, UCLA, TCU, Cal State Fullerton, Texas and Vanderbilt, making up a full Omaha Field of 8.

Back in 2021, EA Sports announced 10 college legends teams would be added for the Madden NFL 22 video game. This meant you could play with Clemson, Miami (FL), LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Southern Cal, Oregon, Nebraska and Michigan State in Madden’s Superstar KO mode. Three years later, the brand-new college football video game, EA Sports College Football 25, was released. This was the first of its kind to come out from EA since NCAA Football 14 in 2013.
Could this mean the same will happen for a college baseball video game in the near future? Perhaps. Though, it’s important to note that MLB The Show is created and developed by San Diego Studios. But this is the first real inclusion of college baseball in a game since MVP 07: NCAA Baseball, which was released on February 7, 2007.
MLB The Show 25 is set to be released on March 18. Users who pre-order for Digital Deluxe Edition gaining early access on March 14. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
