South Carolina baseball's series finale vs. Oklahoma gets new start time

South Carolina and No. 12 Oklahoma have split the first two games of their respective first SEC series. The Sooners won 8-5 on Friday night in the opener, but the Gamecocks answered with a big win 11-5. Both teams are now 1-1 in conference play and hopeful for a first SEC series victory. The rubber match comes on Sunday at Founders Park.
However, the game will not begin at its previously scheduled time. Head coach Paul Mainieri announced the update during his postgame media availability on Saturday night.
Because of the bad weather that is forecasted to hit the southeast on Sunday morning, the deciding game in the USC-OU weekend set will now start at 2:30 p.m. That is one hour later than originally scheduled. Ticketing and broadcasting information remain unchanged at this time. Though the game will not be on traditional television, fans who can’t make it out to Founders Park can stream the contest on SEC Network+.

Senior right-handed pitcher Dylan Eskew will be on the mound for South Carolina on Sunday. After starting the year as the team’s Friday night starter, a minor back injury pushed him to a later spot in the rotation.

Big lefty Cameron Johnson, who played previously at LSU but never pitched against USC, should take the bump for Oklahoma. He has thrown on every Sunday this year for the Sooners.
So far in this series, the Gamecocks have outhit the Sooners 26-20, outscored them 16-13, and committed fewer errors (3-1). Since the first inning of game one ended, that score count is 16-9 in favor of the home team. Carolina pitchers have struck out 22 opposing batters in 18 innings of work, as well.
