South Carolina baseball has struggled to weather the storm that is SEC play throughout the 2025 season. While it possesses a respectable 24-18 overall record, it is 4-14 against conference opponents, as of April 25.

Kentucky Proud Park – Kentucky baseball’s home stadium – also appeared to have some trouble weathering a literal storm Friday evening. Inclement weather in the Lexington area caused the postponement of the Gamecocks’ and Wildcats’ series opener, which was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Instead, the two teams will have a Saturday doubleheader to kick off their three-game tilt. First pitch for game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2:30 p.m, with game two to follow later in the day.

They will wrap up the series on Sunday, with first pitch for that contest set for 1 p.m.

An updated streaming schedule has yet to be announced, but all three games of the series were made available for viewing on the SEC Network+.
