South Carolina basketball makes top six for GG Jackson
GG Jackson is zeroing in on a decision and Friday took the first step towards cutting down his list with South Carolina still firmly in the mix.
South Carolina made the top six for prized 2023 recruit G.G. Jackson, who announced his first list of schools Friday afternoon.
The Gamecocks join Duke, North Carolina, Auburn, Georgetown as the colleges in his top six. The G-League Ignite team also make the cut.
Jackson took official visits to four of those schools: South Carolina, North Carolina, Duke and Georgetown. He came to Columbia for the LSU game, also Legends Weekend, where he saw the Gamecocks beat LSU and came away incredibly impressed with the program.
“It definitely puts a lot of thoughts in my head,” Jackson told GamecockCentral at the time. “I feel like I can lift the state up. A’ja Wilson did it with the girls. Jadeveon Clowney did it with football. I feel like I could, if I was to go there, do it for men’s basketball.”
He also mentioned to GamecockCentral Thursday night he would like to ultimately make a decision in the next two to three weeks. First priority was winning a state championship and then came his decision.
“Around two or three weeks after this I’m going to get with my family and my coaches and we’re going to get to cut my list down,” Jackson told GamecockCentral’s Kendall Smith.
