On Tuesday, 2026 4-star power forward Jalan Wingfield announced his top 10, and South Carolina basketball made the cut. He announced the news on social media in conjunction with On3’s Joe Tipton.

Wingfield is an impressive prospect out of the state of Georgia. His father Dontonio was a McDonald’s All-American before playing at Cincinnati and then in the NBA. With his ties to the Bearcats, it is no surprise Cincinnati joined South Carolina in his top 10. Also on Wingfield’s list are the Auburn Tigers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Virginia Tech Hokies, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, and Mississippi State Bulldogs.

As a player, Wingfield is a 6’7″, 220-pound athlete who can do a little bit of everything on the floor.

He’s a good defender who can protect the rim and switch out onto smaller players. He’s also a high-motor player and solid rebounder. On offense, he has developed some skills away from the basket as both his handle and his shot have improved.

On3’s industry ranking considers Wingfield as the No. 75 overall prospect in America. He’s also the No. 7 player in Georgia and the No. 10 power forward nationally. Some of that ranking is based on extreme potential; as good Wingfield already is, he has a lot of room for improvement, too.

Wingfield has been on the Gamecocks’ radar for a while. His relationship with the South Carolina basketball staff goes back to his sophomore year. USC isn’t the known favorite in his recruitment, but Lamont Paris often works in relative silence on the recruiting trail.

The Gamecocks do not have anyone committed yet in the 2026 cycle, but a strong 2025 class is on its way this summer.
