South Carolina’s win over Texas A&M was huge for a lot of reasons both short and long-term. But one of the benefits is now the Gamecocks have been elevated in a lot of bowl projections.

South Carolina projects anywhere from the Liberty Bowl all the way up to the Reliaquest Bowl, formally known as the Outback Bowl.

The Gamecocks went to the Outback Bowl last in 2017 where the Gamecocks beat Michigan to clinch a nine-win season.

Both Brett McMurphy of the Action Network and Sports Illustrated’s Richard Johnson have South Carolina playing in Tampa. McMurphy has South Carolina playing Notre Dame while Johnson has the Gamecocks again playing North Carolina.

The other projections are a smattering of the same three bowls with varying opponents.

Three outlets have South Carolina still playing in the Liberty Bowl with two projections pitting the Gamecocks against reigning Big 12 champs Baylor while Saturday Down South has them against Kansas State.

Both College Football News and one ESPN writer have South Carolina in the Music City Bowl, one against Michigan State and another playing Maryland.

The other bowl South Carolina is projected to is a new one, the Texas Bowl. That would pit the Gamecocks against a Big 12 team. One has South Carolina against a Texas Tech team off to a hot start but another matchup is potentially more fun.

Sporting News has South Carolina playing Oklahoma. Granted the same staff isn’t there anymore. But it’s the last school Shane Beamer was at before coming to Columbia.

Here’s the full list of bowl projections;

The Gamecocks as of right now are going to be favored in at least their next two games against Missouri and on the road at Vanderbilt.

ESPN’s FPI gives South Carolina a sub-50 percent chance to beat its last three opponents: at Florida, Tennessee and at Clemson. If that does ultimately hold it would put the Gamecocks at 7-5 overall with a 4-4 SEC record.

Kickoff against Missouri is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the SEC Network.
