For the first time this season, these bowl projections are more than just hypotheticals for South Carolina.

The Gamecocks are officially going to a bowl, clinching a postseason berth with an 11-point win over Vanderbilt Saturday night in Nashville.

It’s also the fifth win in six games for the Gamecocks, who now sit at 6-3 (3-3 SEC) with three games to go and very different bowls they could end up playing in this season.

The most frequent now seems to be the Gator, Texas and Las Vegas bowls.

The Vegas Bowl is the newest bowl with an SEC tie-in, and South Carolina would certainly welcome a chance to go out and play in the desert a little over a week before Christmas.

South Carolina is projected to play in the Las Vegas Bowl by two publications, and both the Gator and Texas bowls are seen twice in this week’s projections. A few have South Carolina playing closer to New Year’s Day in the Music City or ReliaQuest–formerly the Outback–bowls.

Without further ado, here are this week’s bowl projections:

This is South Carolina’s fifth bowl game in the last eight seasons and first time going to consecutive bowls since playing in three straight from 2016 to 2018.

The Gamecocks have three regular-season games left, next up a road tilt against Florida. South Carolina then hosts Tennessee in its home finale before finishing up on the road at Clemson. The final two games are against AP top-15 teams.

ESPN’s FPI gives South Carolina a 29.2 percent chance to beat Florida on the road. The Gamecocks are given a 13.7 and 12.3 percent chance to upset the Vols and Tigers, respectively.

Kickoff in Gainesville is also scheduled for 4 p.m. on the SEC Network Saturday.
