South Carolina 2024 signee Adhel Tac has suffered a knee injury and will miss her senior year of high school.
Tac announced on Thursday that she dislocated her kneecap and tore her MPFL on Nov. 10 and will miss her senior season. She also missed her junior season due to a fracture in her right foot but returned to the court last summer.
The estimated recovery time for Tac’s injuries is 8-12 weeks. If there is a silver lining, it is that Tac did not suffer a torn ACL, which has a recovery time of close to a year.

Tac initially committed to South Carolina on Oct. 27, a few weeks after visiting Columbia.
According to HoopGurlz Tac is the 26th-ranked prospect in the 2024 class and second-ranked post. Tac has only played basketball since she was 13. She was ranked as high as 12th before the injury shut her down and is considered one of the best rebounders and rim protectors in the class.
Tac uses her size well and is good at playing with the ball high. She can rebound and gather without bringing the ball down, a valuable skill for bigs.
At 6-5, Tac fills a critical recruiting need for South Carolina. The Gamecocks have missed out on several posts in the 2023 and 2024 recruiting cycles. Since signing Aliyah Boston in 2019, South Carolina has only signed one high school post: Ashlyn Watkins, who probably should have been listed as a forward.
