Former South Carolina receiver lands in ACC via transfer portal
Former South Carolina wide receiver Debron Gatling has found his new home. Following his entrance into the transfer portal a couple of weeks ago, Gatling has committed to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He announced the news on social media.
After flipping from the Texas A&M Aggies to the Gamecocks on Early Signing Day last cycle, Gatling did not see any game action in 2024. The former 3-star wide receiver redshirted and has four years of eligibility remaining. A move to the Peach State serves as a return home for Gatling, who is from Alpharetta and played at Milton High School.

Gatling was not the only receiver to leave the program via the transfer portal. Fellow wideouts Tyshawn Russell, Elijah Caldwell, and CJ Adams all are in the portal and intend to transfer. South Carolina has five true freshman signees (and is hoping for a sixth) who will replace those scholarships. It also would not be a surprise to see the Gamecocks land a transfer portal receiver, as well.
