Fresh off a big road win, the South Carolina football program is in good shape from an injury standpoint.

Head coach Shane Beamer noted during his weekly Sunday teleconference that, for the first time this season he could get on the call and report no major injuries stemming from the game.

“Normal bumps and bruises,” said Beamer. “That was a physical football game, so we’ve certainly got some guys that are beat up after last night. Nothing that is concerning as we go into the off week.”

Beamer also said that South Carolina players that did not travel or were unable to play on Saturday are expected to be “good to go” for USC’s next contest against Texas A&M.

“The guys that did not play last night, that weren’t on the trip last night or didn’t play, expect all those guys to be good to go against A&M. So, we’ll see how this week goes,” Beamer explained.

Two South Carolina football safeties – Devonni Reed (who did travel) and RJ Roderick – did not play against the Wildcats.

Defensive tackle Boogie Huntley was also held out of the game after previously aggravating an injury he sustained at Arkansas.

Wide receiver Corey Rucker likewise did not travel with the team to Lexington but could be back on the field again the Saturday after next.

“Should be,” Beamer said of Rucker’s potential to be back against Texas A&M. “Again, I group him in that category I mentioned. Anybody who wasn’t available last night, we expect everyone to be available for Texas A&M unless they were somebody we talked about previously that was season ending.”

Running back Christian Beal-Smith also did not play against Kentucky, nor did offensive lineman Trai Jones.
